Lakadong turmeric is having the highest curcumin content; considered as the best turmeric in the world. Earlier it was Alleppey finger turmeric from Kerala. It has a distinct aromatic flavor and light brown colour compared to ordinary varieties of turmeric, Curcumin is more than 8%

I use this to make turmeric paste for a PEG-fed patient. The flavor and smell is possibly too strong for regular cooking, but this seems a good choice for therapeutic/healthy shakes or smoothies.

It has such a strong aroma and color of real turmeric, that after using this, I feel very uneasy to use any other turmeric brands in the market.
Although it isn’t certified as organic, it does say organically grown. I hope that it really is organically grown.
My father smelled it and immediately said ‘it smells like the turmeric we used 50 years back in our village’ 🙂
