Chana dal, staple food in India is a very healthy legume. It is also known as baby chickpeas or split chickpeas. It is very peculiar with its nice crunchy nutty flavour. We get it from the organic farmers of Metupalayam, situated in the foothills of the Nilgiri Hills and Sangli in Maharashtra. The less processed and unpolished can be used in a variety of lip-smacking dishes especially in Indian Cuisine.
